The Travails of Twelfth Standard Science students
The joy of having passed out tenth standard CBSE syllabus has no boundaries for a student. first it isthe joy of escaping from the orbit of school into the orbit of college then it is the joy of entering theshold of space into a path of career course foundation.
The search for a good college is the start of reality for the youngsters who get the first taste of defeat or easy walkthrough vis a vis the admission criteria of each college.your high marks dont get you anywhere near good institutions without reccomendations and your low grade helps institutions to enroll you with monetary calculations.
having secured the college admissions you find that uniform is integral part of studies and hve to resign to the fact of monotonous dress for another 2 yrs at least.
The college which boasts of unparalled history of greats actually consists of mediocre faculty coming in as lecturers to find an income rather than impart knowledge which of course they could not as they lack the facility.
principal finds time to provide the parents with statistics boasting of high percentiles but find no time to take a class in its entirety .The semiresidential college provided food compulsory for the students and staff with dismal taste much to the chari gn of the teenagers whos taste buds are at its prime for premium food .
Teachers spend time to teach the syllabus to complete as they know that the actual studing will be dome by the students early morning at 5 am and during late evenings after 5 pm until 11 pm when they are at the peak of stuydy period at tuitions centers.college of cousrse is for exam center and legitimately getting the marks card.
In the process the tuitiion tutored student hands out on a platter his hard earned and heavily expensive marks to the college which makes the student spell out and praise the faculty for the end result obtained by burning midnight oil and spending hard earned parents money at tuition centers.
It doesnt end there,the next ordeal starts with CET and other exams for anothe r transit period before the first tensions and stress sinks on the induvidual in the making .The uncertainity of getting merit based seat jostling with high marks specialists and low caste based reservation policy.it needs you to be either in the first 500 rank or last 25000 rank depending on whether you are on general merit or reservation status

Need of a ANNA in Karnataka
The political scenario in India has changed dramatically for better with the unselfish initiative of Anna Hazare in rolling the ball on Lokpal bill.
It may be a long drive for us Indians to reach the ultimate goal of a perfect Lokpal but surely the start has provided a light ,hope to see at the end of the drive.Once the bill is passed we will be able to savour the benefits along the way with infusion of amendments strenghtening the bill and providing fuel for the long drive.
I could not defer my thinking to see corrupt free India showng the way for more countries to adapt our bill as model in other democracies around the world.
Since our own Lokayukta Mr Santhosh Hegde has been instrumental to an extent in practically showing that Politicians can see the court halls by standing in the accused box,it is miore necessary that we need a movement in Karnataka now to take the step forward to see that all the bureaucrats who c onnived with the mining in particular and those who have been caught during bribe taking nad for amassing illegal wealth are shown the rooms of prison at the earliest .
The need is urgent as we see the present BJP govt all set to provide plum posting to tainted Babus who actually need to be dismissed from service ,penalty imposed ,and promptly marched to the jail.!
The central leadership(if they are to be called leaders) show stepmotherly politics at the center and motherly affection to the state BJP units!
